Colonoscopy - 11/30/2022
The doctor biopsied 20 different areas on the tumor they found and were not able to get deep enough to get a definitive diagnosis. Our next steps are a liver biopsy, unfortunately, we aren't able to get it done locally because of the backlog of patients. I called MSK (Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Institute) located in New York and asked if we have enough information to get an appointment. And we do (we have mixed feelings about this)!
In a matter of hours I had three different people from MSK calling me to go over patient intake info, and getting Zach to meet with a general doctor and an interventional radiologist which is scheduled for Tuesday, December 6th in the afternoon for consultations. Both appointments on the same day at the same location is unheard of from what the nurse and my scheduler (point person) said. They are also holding liver biopsy appointments for his and we will know an exact date for that either Monday or Tuesday when we meet with the doctors.
We will also be going to the Westchester office as it is closer
We have seen God working in so many ways during the last month and honestly over the last year.
From putting it on my heart to slow down with work and when I told Silas that his eyes lit up!
Back in September I was worried because I only had 4 shoots book for December and normally I have 10. I see that he was preparing me to step into this caregiving role.
The support Zach has felt from work and friends and family is incredible.
This event (as terrible as it is) has brought Zach and I closer than we have ever been before.
If you are looking to help - Please pray for complete healing of his mind, body and soul and that the Holy Spirit fills us with peace, joy and endurance.
