Biopsy Day - 12-7-22
Yesterday we met with MSK for the first time in their Westchester, NY office. Both the general doctor and the IR Doc (Interventional Radiologist) were amazing. They treated us like real people and I they answered our questions as best as they could and when they didn't have an answer they told us, I don't know the answer to that. They were honest with us and it felt so good.
After the IR doctor spoke with us he asked if we wanted to come in the next day for the liver biopsy instead of the day after so we jumped on it. We got home last night ate dinner, went to bed, got up early and did the drive back this morning with a 9am arrival time.
We got him checked in and they took us back, and I was grateful I was able to sit with him for the hour before they wheeled him into the surgical room.
They called me as soon as he was starting to wake up and told me he did great and I was able to sit with him again until they discharged him.
He did great through the procedure (core liver biopsy) and napped as soon as we got home. We should get official results by the 14th at the latest.
Still feels unreal to write about.
