Another Scan, another decision

Last week, we spent the week in Texas visiting my older sister and her family. Silas ran around with his cousins, played with a frizzle chicken, went fishing, and needed a thorough shower every night. Zach and I helped them build a hoop house (well, we helped at the beginning). I learned how to make sourdough, and all in all, it was what my heart needed. We were also able to experience the solar eclipse in totality! Such an amazing event to see.

We returned from Texas on Wednesday, and Zach went in for his scan on Friday morning and then a follow-up with his local doctor that afternoon. The radiology report popped in as he got home, and we read it together. However, we have learned to wait for the doctor's interpretation rather than come to our conclusions.

Unfortunately, there is an increase in the size of the tumors in both his liver and lungs; the growth is minimal but no longer stable. His local oncologist suggests keeping the same regime for the subsequent two cycles and then switching back to FOLFOX after we return from Scotland.

This way, he isn't starting something new right before we leave, and they will have time to discuss with his MD Anderson team and run everything through insurance.

We are indifferent about the scan. We wanted to see it get smaller, but it didn't, so we moved along.
