You'd never know he was on chemo 5-16-23
We had our 2 pm call with the liver surgeon today and Silas's baseball game at 5:45. Zach co-coached it while having his chemo drip attached, and Silas hit two doubles!
The call went a little like this:
The tumors in the liver are all over the liver and not confined to a single segment, which makes it not resectable. They suggested putting in the liver pump. However, they would do another exploratory surgery at the start to ensure no more peritoneal disease. They will not cut out the tumors or place the liver pump if there is visible peritoneal disease. We are still waiting on 2nd opinion appointments from MD Anderson in Houston and Dana Farber in Boston.
We are scheduling the surgery, knowing we can change our minds anytime.
Zach is tolerating the new chemo well. He rocked it at Silas's baseball game tonight, and you would never know he had a chemo drip attached.
We are praying and hoping there will be a consensus between all the opinions and not all over the board.
We continue to pray for discernment and peace and to know what to choose. We may never understand why Zach must endure this, but God has given him one of the best hearts alongside our son.
We continue to pray and make the most of our days.
